Online learning has been a big adjustment for most families, students, teachers and school systems. There are a lot of challenges. Yet in the midst of the challenges a number of students are doing well and finding appreciation for some of the changes the home learning has forced upon them.
I encourage all of us to reflect on how things are going and to identify if there are any changes that have been positive. A few of the positives my students have identified include getting more sleep because they do not have a morning commute and because they finish work earlier in the day; more personal time where they used to be running nonstop between school and extracurricular activities; and working independently as they can manage their study time differently. This article poses some additional ideas to consider as we all try to make the best of unexpected and changing times. https://www.edutopia.org/article/why-are-some-kids-thriving-during-remote-learning
